Conchita Blanco an Indonesian architect trained in Melbourne joined Kalpataru as their creative director and designer in 2016 before opening her own architectural studio in Bali, Blancostudio. Her work in Kalpataru ranges from designing home ware, art installation, Interior and furnishing that evolves around the architectural principle of form follows function.
Kalpataru Bali founded by her husband Avalon Carpenter is a creative collaboration of craftspeople with a passion for making: carpenters, carvers, weavers, metalsmiths and so much more. Using only the finest sustainable materials both Kalpataru and Kevala strives to make the highest quality pieces and are proud to be made in Indonesia.

Our collaboration with Conchita Blanco in the creation of ‘Kalpataru’ – breakfast set revolves around the principles of simplicity and tactility. The goal was to craft a dining experience that engages the senses, placing a strong emphasis on touch. In the design process, each individual piece was carefully crafted to provide a highly tactile encounter.
The user-friendly nature of the set is evident in the thoughtful incorporation of curves and lines, enhancing the overall aesthetic with an interplay of form and function. This deliberate attention to detail ensures that our unique and organic shapes not only appeal visually but also contribute to a satisfying and enjoyable tactile experience for users.
